Celebrities including Jessica Biel, Pete Wentz, Kym Marsh and Zoe Lister have all signed up and backed Pump Aid and Dow Live Earth’s Run For Water Events on 18th April 2010.
Coronation Street actress and former pop star Kym Marsh is encouraging people to sign up to the London running event at Victoria Park, she said:
“Currently a staggering one billion people don’t have access to clean water, something that we in the UK take for granted. So please help Pump Aid, a fantastic charity that gives water pumps to communities in Africa that have no access to clean water, by taking part in the 6km Run For Water events on April 18.”

It’s a noble thing to get involved in providing clean water for the less privileged. For those of us who are lucky enough to draw water at our finger tips in our homes just take a minute to think of the Millions in Africa who walk miles to draw often times unsafe and unclean water. Your involvement will make a difference to this world, a journey of a thousand kilometers starts with a single step. Keep up the good work and encourage more to join in.
Fantastic idea! No Zimbabweans have ANY excuse not to get involved, especially since this takes place on our Independence Day. What better way to commemorate it than to do something for the people back home who need our help? I’ll be there and I’ll be dragging a bunch of Zimbos with me whether they like it or not! ;o)
GREAT WORK as always, and on behalf of my country, THANK YOU PUMP AID… xxxxxxxx
