The Soroptimists International of Harrogate & District have managed to raise a staggering £4,500 since May 2007. They have been massive supporters of Pump Aids work, and have arranged an array of fundraising events, and awareness building for the organisation. Events have included a speaker meeting in May 07, a fundraising dinner in October 07, concerts and local events to reach their totalling donation.
A concert held at Harrogates Wesley Chapel in April this year raised £2,000 for two african charities, one being Pump Aid. A cheque was presented at the concert to for £4,500 presented by Ann Hertherington, Harrogate & Districts president, Rachel Richardson and the Mayor of Knaresboruough Coun Peter Guest and Mayoress Lesley Guest to Pump Aid, representing the full year's collection.
It was a fantastic event and Pump Aid will continue to work with the Soroptimists to raise awareness and support of their work..
