The Amp Awards are an event held in Yorkshire with a variety of schools taking part. The AMP Awards is an exciting Music and Enterprise Competition for young people at Schools and Colleges across Leeds, Bradford, Harrogate and York.

9 Business Teams in each city collaborate to manage a large regional event showcasing passionate original performance on a prestigious stage. Now in its 6th year, this successful event involves the collaboration of Pupils, Teaching Staff and Business Mentors in a very exciting Music and Enterprise Competition which also raises significant funds and awareness in support of Pump Aid.

The AMP Awards is a competition which truly engages young people and teaches real-life enterprise skills to both business students and band members alike. It tests business acumen, event planning, marketing and financial skills whilst also providing a platform to showcase the often uncelebrated talents of emerging rock musicians. Each student business team is coached and advised by a business mentor to act as music promoters and event managers, seeking out the talent to represent their school and go on to perform at an AMP Awards Regional Final.

Thanks to the schools involved the people of Chinkhoma now have access to a sustainable supply of clean water, sanitation and hygiene. This means that they no longer have to walk many miles to collect clean water and instead can spend their time working or at school. They also have a safe and hygienic place to go to the toilet and no longer fear getting attacked or embarrassed like they did before when they had to defecate in the open.
