End Water Poverty
End Water Poverty (EWP) is an international coalition, consisting of over 100 member organisations that campaign to end the global injustice that causes millions to live without access to clean water and sanitation. Since beginning in 2006 EWP has achieved a great deal within the water and sanitation sector, and continues to influence key decision makers on changing policy and bringing this issue to the forefront of people’s agenda’s.
Global Handwashing Coalition
Global Handwashing Day is a global coalition which was set up by the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. The coalition campaign to change handwashing behaviour and bring the critical issue of hygiene and sanitation to the centre stage.
The coalition was initiated in 2008 by the Global Public-Private Partnership for Handwashing with Soap; Global Handwashing Day is endorsed by a wide array of governments, international institutions, civil society organizations, NGOs, private companies and individuals around the globe.
Peace One Day
Peace One Day was founded in 1999 by filmmaker Jeremy Gilley to establish one day of international peace. After just two years the organisation managed to get all 192 member states of the United Nations to unanimously adopt 21 September as an annual day of global ceasefire and non-violence, known as the UN International Day of Peace, calling that day Peace Day.
World Toilet Organisation
World Toilet Organization (WTO) is a global non-profit organisation committed to improving toilet and sanitation conditions worldwide. WTO is also one of the few organisations to focus on toilets instead of water, which receives more attention and resources under the common subject of sanitation. Founded in 2001 with 15 members, it now has 215 member organizations in 57 countries working towards eliminating the toilet taboo and delivering sustainable sanitation.
WTO was created as a global network and service platform wherein all toilet and sanitation organisations can learn from one another and leverage on media and global support that in turn can influence governments to promote sound sanitation and public health policies.
Robin Hood Tax Campaign
The Robin Hood Tax campaign is a movement bringing together dozens of organisations that work to reduce poverty in the UK and overseas, and campaign to tackle climate change. They have come together during the economic crisis to campaign for a new deal between banks and society
PooP Creative
PooP Creative Ltd is a not for profit company working with government and non-government organisations to help raise awareness about inadequate sanitation and poor hygiene practice in the developing world in a bid to motivate improvements that are vital to the health of communities around the world.
As a creative team they have experience in the music, film, design and events sectors and work with talented artists and organisations to deliver key messages, campaigns and events about the dignity and human right of good sanitation together with the benefits of adopting good hygiene practice.
National Union of Students (NUS)
The NUS is a voluntary membership organisation which makes a real difference to the lives of students and its member students' unions. They are a confederation of 600 students' unions, amounting to more than 95 per cent of all higher and further education unions in the UK. Through their member students' unions, they represent the interests of more than seven million students.
